What Is Laser Therapy, and How Can It Help Your Pet?

Laser Therapy is a surgery-free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment to:

  • Reduce Pain
  • Reduce Inflammation
  • Speed Healing

Laser Therapy is used to:

  • Reduce pain and discomfort
  • Speed healing
  • Increase mobility and motion in joints

How does Laser Therapy work?

  • Photons of laser light penetrate deep into tissue
  • These photons are absorbed in the cells which initiates a photo-chemical response

This response in the cells blocks nerve impulses, accelerates tissue repair, increases circulation, and reduces swelling.

Which pets benefit for Laser Therapy?

If your pet is in pain, has inflammation, or has a wound, laser therapy can be beneficial.

This includes patients that have the aches and pains of old age, who have just had a surgical procedure, or who have a an open wound or recent injury.

Laser Therapy can be used for…

  • Arthritis, no matter how chronic or severe
  • Wounds including bites, burns, scrapes, and cuts
  • Hip Dysplasia and Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD) or other joint conditions
  • To speed healing and reduce pain and inflammation after surgeries including spays, neuters, declaws, tumor removals, and emergency cases

Laser Therapy can also be used for…

  • Dental procedures
  • Ear Infections
  • Skin infections and allergies
  • Sprains and strains
  • Fractures
  • Bruising and swelling and many other conditions – (ask us if your pet can benefit)

What Role does Laser Therapy play?

Laser Therapy can be used in conjunction with other treatment programs to enhance results, shorten healing time, and reduce your pet’s discomfort.

Many conditions readily respond to this non-invasive Therapy, making it ideal as a “first step” in the treatment program.

Custom Treatment Plans

The Laser treatment program is unique to each pet. The number and frequency of treatments will be determined by your veterinarian based on your pet’s medical condition and needs.

Most treatment sessions take only a matter of minutes.
